Highway 50 – Feat. Al Laughlin of the Samples – Added to BOOM CHICK this Friday

We are please to announce the addition of Highway 50 – Featuring Al Laughlin of the Samples to BOOM CHICK’s headlining show at Moe’s this Friday 9/30!

Highway 50’s sound comes about from having been influenced by and having been privileged enough to tour with The Wailers, Steel Pulse, Johnny Clegg & Savuka, Burning Spear, etc. Jeep MacNichol (original drummer for The Samples) introduced Al to his reggae collection and encouraged me to play less and more rhythm style.

That style has been coined “The Bubble” by first Jamaicans and then developed through my experiences on the road with The Samples. Those experiences have also helped Al continually perfect his songwriting skills through the years.

Highway 50 was formed with old friend Anthony Stammers from Atlanta.

WAVVES AT MOE’S Thurs 10.6! -HUGE New Show Announcement!

A last minute Reroute of their south west tour is bringing this HUGE show to Moe’s Next Thursday October 6th!

Call it a surf rock revival, Wavves is a band that is not only riding the current wave, but perhaps leading the pack. With three albums in three years, Wavves have evolved from a grungy, distorted noise pop band, to a full fledged act with depth and style. On their most recent, King of the Beach, there are hard hitting singalongs such as “Post Acid,” mellow melodies like “When Will You Come,” and everything in between. In just 36.9 minutes the record plays out as a great BBQ soundtrack for the upcoming summer days.
